DIY Wine Carrier Free Plans

Handmade gifts are the best and I'm a huge fan of making something rather than buying so today I'm sharing this DIY wine carrier project plan.  It's nothing new or really that creative but it's a simple project that nearly anyone can complete in under an hour.

This wine carrier holds two bottles just perfectly.  A 1x4 board just happens to be the exact width you need to fit a bottle of wine!

T is for Three Legged Stool

My little desk stool is complete and you're in luck because my buildy friend Ana White has the plans for us!  I feel extremely blessed and fortunate to have Ana in my life because when you design a three legged stool with multiple angles she kindly agrees to make the plans!  Hurray!

DIY Sliding Barn Door Console Free Plans

Snowstorm Jonas kept me hunkered down all weekend with plenty of time to make proper plans for the sliding barn door console as I've been meaning to tackle for quite some time.

Thank you to everyone who has shown so much interest in the original console post where I shared cut lists and basic construction process.  Your interest and questions spurred me on to make proper plans down below.

You may recall I built this console for week one of the Creating With the Stars series in the Spring of 2014:

10 Holiday Gift Ideas for The DIYer

Here it is, my ultimate holiday gift guide for the DIY'er.  If you have a DIY'er on your gift list I guarantee any one of these tools will be greatly appreciated.  These are my top 10 must have tools, I have every single one of them (except the heated jacket (wink, wink)) and I use them on a regular basis.

 

Gorilla wood glue works like a charm and fits in a stocking too!  And The Home Depot travel mug, almost everyone needs coffee and most importantly this mug has a lid!  Any DIY'er will tell you drinking coffee with a thin layer of sawdust is not fun.

This candle!!!!  Technically I don't use this candle in my workshop but I do use it at my desk and the smell is amazing.  I highly recommend this candle and be sure to check out everything in their shop!

DIY Glossy Three Drawer Dresser

Shiny, glossy and almost lacquer-like this painted three drawer dresser is complete!  Would you believe this high gloss finish was achieved using a water based brush-on paint?   It's true folks.

Americana Decor Maxx Gloss for the win.

I used this beautiful Caribbean Sea blue color for the drawer fronts and White China on the dresser body: 

To achieve this amazing finish first select a piece of furniture.  I built this three drawer dresser from scratch (and will share the plans soon!) so my wood was unfinished.

Art Cart Caddy Free Plans

Everyone is still in 'organization mode' so I teamed up with Ana White to bring you this art cart perfect for storing and organizing kids art supplies.  We think this would be a very appropriate build for any kids space, maybe you have the perfect spot somewhere in your home or even to build as a gift for that creative child in your life?

And as a bonus I have plans down below for the removable art caddy.  The caddy gives portablility and allows kids to bring the supplies directly to their work table.

Ana made this build so simple and easy you won't believe how fast it comes together.  I choose to go natural with the finish using two coats of clear poly and I didn't even fill in my nail holes!  Sometimes nail holes don't bother me especially on a utilitarian build like this one.

Paper Cross Stitch for Fall free printable

I've been cross stitching ever since I was a little girl and I love coming back to it time and again.  I think it's the nostalgic feel of handsewing and repetitive pattern left behind by the thread that wins me over.  Today I'm cross stitching on paper and sharing this paper cross stitch artwork along with the free printable patterns down below for you to make your own.

Simply stitched onto paper and then nailed to a piece of scrap wood this little acorn is too cute next to the big pumpkin.

House Shape Door Decor

On a quest for door decor thats different from the typical wreath?  Im always on the lookout for unusual or unexpected door decor so today Im sharing this house shape door decor.  All the details including step by step instructions, materials and cut lists are over at Brittanys blog Pretty Handy Girl.

And yes it does look a bit like an arrow so if youre looking to build an arrow shape you could use the same plans!  For my purposes its a house shape and I added the red hearts just to keep it fun.
