This one is for you buildy friends.  Back in July a group of us buildy bloggers got together for a One Board Challenge where we all built different projects using a single 1x8x8 board.  You all were so enthusiastic with your comments and feedback asking to join in on the challenge so here is your chance!

RULES:

• build a project using only one 1x8x8 board
• any type of wood is allowed
• lumber is limited to the single board but you can add glue, paint, hardware for embellishment

HOW TO ENTER:

• follow the rules above to build your project, take a picture and post it to your Facebook, Instagram or Twitter accounts* and be sure to use the hashtag #OneBoardChallange
• you can enter multiple one board projects
• all submissions must be posted by October 15th
• one winner will be announced October 26th

Paper Cross Stitch for Fall free printable

I've been cross stitching ever since I was a little girl and I love coming back to it time and again.  I think it's the nostalgic feel of handsewing and repetitive pattern left behind by the thread that wins me over.  Today I'm cross stitching on paper and sharing this paper cross stitch artwork along with the free printable patterns down below for you to make your own.

Simply stitched onto paper and then nailed to a piece of scrap wood this little acorn is too cute next to the big pumpkin.

DIY Hanging Lantern

Yes this post is titled DIY hanging lanterns and my lanterns aren't even hanging in the picture.  That's okay, you get the idea that you definitely could hang them.  The glass jar is glued in place and that's a battery operated candle so no fear of fire.
