Wood Leather Shopping List Board

"Add it to the shopping list."

I heard myself saying this repeatedly to my kids this summer.  To which they would respond, 

"But where is the shopping list?"

and then I would have to give detailed instructions such as on the counter next to the tissue box or some other guided information.  By the time I was done explaining where the shopping list was they would have forgotten what they wanted to add to the list.  And then they would get mad at me for not buying said item at the store when it wasn't even on the list to begin with.

I'm finally got off this merry-go-round by making a wood and leather shopping list board with a paper roll.  It's perfectly placed smack between the refrigerator and pantry and hung low enough so all my kids can reach it.

Everyone can add whatever their little heart desires to the shopping list now.

Walk In Closet Makeover plus built in plans

Now that everyone is in full-on organizational mode, purging and cleaning all those closets, I thought it would be a great time to share my walk-in closet makeover.

Fair warning there are A LOT of photos in this post because frankly who doesn't love an organized closet ;)  But for real I tried my best to show you the before and after in all cases plus how I rebuilt, reconfigured and added-on to the existing built-ins.  In addition there are free plans down below to match these built-ins if you're feeling tempted.

This walk-in closet has 3 walls of built-ins and the fourth wall is a window.  Above is the long wall and below is the short wall:

Three Drawer Dresser Plans

Happy New Year everyone!  Lets get building for 2016.  First up I have the plans for this three drawer dresser:

Tons of storage here with open cubbies and drawers.  To be honest I built this as a giant shared nightstand to go in between my girls beds however we couldnt get it up our super narrow stairwells.

Measure twice, build once.  Or something like that.  At any rate its still a great piece with lots of functionality perfect for our playroom area and now I get the chance to build different nightstands for my girls.

Paper Cross Stitch for Fall free printable

I've been cross stitching ever since I was a little girl and I love coming back to it time and again.  I think it's the nostalgic feel of handsewing and repetitive pattern left behind by the thread that wins me over.  Today I'm cross stitching on paper and sharing this paper cross stitch artwork along with the free printable patterns down below for you to make your own.

Simply stitched onto paper and then nailed to a piece of scrap wood this little acorn is too cute next to the big pumpkin.
