Enjoying Lifes Sweet Moments With Marie Callender’s Dutch Apple Pie

How do you celebrate things at home with your family? From small accomplishments to celebrating reaching larger goals, my daughters and I love to celebrate these events with time spent together as a family and a special dessert. I have always said that the kitchen is the heart of the home. And that is exactly where we gather to talk and be together in our home while we enjoy life and celebrate its sweet moments.

I was happy that I was asked by Marie Callenders to be part of their Sweet Moments campaign. Life certainly does go by in the blink of an eye. I think its so important that we savor every precious, sweet moment with our families. Marie Callenders pies are perfect for helping us celebrate. Only Marie Callenders delivers homemade quality, and their products are made without compromise. The made from scratch crust, and wholesome, homemade quality and highest quality ingredients, along with their signature special touches - such as the Dutch Apple Pies crumb topping- give us a reason to celebrate every day.

Last night my daughters and I celebrated with a Marie Callenders Dutch Apple Pie. We were excited to try it! Made with 100% Fuji apples and extra flaky crust made from scratch, I knew it would be the perfect treat on a chilly November night. My girls and I loved the pie. I was impressed by the quality of ingredients, the perfect texture and buttery taste of the brown sugar and cinnamon streusel crumb topping, the light taste of cinnamon and the taste and texture of the apples were perfect. My house smelled wonderful as the pie baked to perfection in my oven. We all agreed that the pie was delicious, had a homemade quality, and the perfect treat to enjoy together.

Whats next on our list to try? Marie Callenders Coconut Cream pie (which I think we will enjoy on our next movie night) with its creamy coconut custard, made from scratch crust, and hand garnished with a real toasted coconut – Yum! And then after that we will be enjoying Marie Callenders Chocolate Satin Pie with its rich chocolate filling, made from scratch crust, and topping of real chocolate curls. Delicious! Life does go by in the blink of an eye. Savor each precious, sweet moment.

My 5 Favorite Things For Today Friday November 13 2015

My 5 favorite things for today...

1. Vanilla Chai decaf tea from Stash Tea in THIS mug. Add one tablespoon of honey and a splash of lowfat milk and Im a happy girl. I love the mug. I found it at Kohls.

2. Sara when she lays around like this and watches me. Oh Sara, you look so bored!

3. My fireplace mantle in my music/family room. This is a collection of a few of my favorite things; the ceramic reindeer bust, my thrift store Buddha collection, the tall candle jar that was a gift from my late brother, and the twig and branch peace sign wreath that I made a few years ago. I love the way it looks with the white lights. Want to make your own? Check out the tutorial here!

4. This quote: "Dont ruin a good today because of a bad yesterday" reminds us that each new day is separate from the previous one, and that we should not carry the previous days troubles into the next day but instead try to leave them in the past. Ive been going through a hard time lately, and so I am holding on with both hands to any advice like this.

5. This photo of leaves in our front yard that my daughter Erica took on her way to school one morning. The colors are perfect.

What do you think?

Enjoy your day!
Love,
Laura

My 5 Favorite Things For Today Thursday November 19th 2015

My 5 favorite things for today...

1. Today is my daughter Rachels 11th birthday! She is the true animal person of the house, she really has a natural knack for communicating with cats and dogs and all types of animals. Probably because she is so sweet and kind. Happy Birthday Rachel! :)

2. This pressed red glass heart window ornament. I have a small collection of these pressed glass ornaments; a green frog, a cobalt lighthouse, and a purple rabbit are a few of the others.

3. This mosaic birds nest bowl that I made a few years ago is one of my favorite things. Its made from antique china, and has a little bird salt shaker perched on the rim. I love the way it turned out with the nutmeg colored grout.

4. This quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson.
"Be silly.
Be honest.
Be kind."
I wish more people would be more silly, more honest, and more kind.

5. This Chai tea! Celestial Teahouse Decaf Mountain Chai.  I just tried this for the first time and I really like it. Its yum!

Enjoy your day!
Love,
Laura

My 5 Favorite Things For Today My Morning Hike

My 5 favorite things for today...

1. My 5 favorite things for today are from my morning hike. One of my favorite things about living in Pennsylvania are our beautiful forests and hiking trails. Its hard to tell from this photo, but those boulders are massive!

2. This leaf-strewn path, and my favorite water bottle. These trails are much prettier in the summer, but still a serene and peaceful hike no matter the season.

3. This is the rock where I stop and sit every time I hike this trail. Sometimes I sit here for a minute or two. Other times I sit here for an hour and just think, and write notes into my phone.

4. This morning on my hike I came across this pyramid-shaped rock art sculpture that someone had built. Its a bit hard to see in the photo, but it was really neat. The center of it was open. I also came across two young white tail deer on my way back down the mountain.

5. "Trees are poems the earth writes upon the sky" is a quote from Khalil Gibran.

Enjoy your day!
Love,
Laura

Beautiful Bohemian Beaded Curtains

I love the unique bohemian style of beaded curtains. I love the colors, I love the different
shapes and sized of beads used in the curtains, and I love the sounds they make when the
beaded strands move and touch each other. Take a look and be inspired...
