Who doesnt like playing with new makeup? I do! When it comes to my makeup, I usually
stick to a neutral go-to palette, so I was excited for a chance to break out of that old routine
and try something new and different by partnering with Mary Kay to try out some
great Mary Kay® cosmetic products! My goal? To try some new products and create a new
look for myself. To do this, Mary Kay sent me a package of cosmetic goodies so that I could
create Mary Kays Merry Berry Look, which is perfect for the holidays.
After unpacking my goodies I checked out the Mary Kay® website and spent some time in
the Makeup Tips section, where I learned more about shaping my brows, how to apply lip
liner, and how to choose eye shadow color. There were links to videos that showed how to
apply makeup, so I watched a few of those too. When you wear cosmetics daily its easy
to fall into a routine of always choosing the same colors or products every day, especially
when you have a busy life. Believe me, I get that! Im a busy mom of two, full time jewelry
designer, and two-time author. I dont get a lot of time for me! So it was nice to take a few minutes just for myself and explore the tutorials and videos.
Now it was time to experiment with my new cosmetics! I started with a clean face and
applied a little bit of foundation and a dusting of powder and my canvas was ready to go!
I did my eyes following the suggested directions in the Mary Kay® catalog. First I applied
Granite Mineral Eye Color over my eyelids and blended to the temple area. Next I applied
Moonstone Mineral Eye Color to the inner corners of my eyelids and along my brow bones.
Lastly, I accented my eyes with Coal Mineral Eye Color by applying a bit of that below my
brow bone into the crease of my eye and blended all of the colors together with the
Mary Kay® Eye Color Brush. I am crazy about blending! Maybe its the artist in me, but
its definitely one of the things I spend the most time on when applying my makeup. Blend those shadows ladies!
Once I was finished applying my eye shadow colors and blending them, I applied the Black
Eyeliner to my top and bottom lash lines, slightly winging it out at the outer corners. I liked
the eyeliner a lot. I like to apply a very fine line of eyeliner as close to my lashes as I can, and then I lightly smudge the liner to soften up the look. Once the liner was complete I topped it
all off with a coat of Mary Kay® Ultimate Mascara in Black. I was really happy with the way
my eyes looked once I was finished!
Next I did my lips. First I traced the outline of my lips with Plum Lip Liner, and then topped
them off with NouriShine Plus® Lip Gloss in Sparkle Berry. I liked the liner and gloss colors a lot and thought they were very flattering on me.
I finished off my look with a brush of Mary Kay® Mineral Cheek Color in Sparkling Cider.
Great shade! What do you think of my finished Mary Kay® Merry Berry look? I was really
happy with the end results! I thought the look was glamorous, especially with my hair
